About Me
I am a System Administrator in training, on the job. I play a dual roll of Desktop Support Technician and Network Administrator, so there will be posts that relate to both of these jobs. I am charting my progress and tips/tools that I want to keep handy.
Currently, I am responsible for one Exchange Server that is part of a larger domain run at another location. I have a few file servers, a couple of Cisco Routers, a few switches and 3 subnets. I support about 50 full-time users who are running Windows 2000, XP and Vista. We have Office 2000, 2003, and 2007, but use Outlook 2003 only.
My experience thus far has been managing a help desk (providing mostly email, wired and wireless nic setup and Microsoft Office support) and running a computer lab at a college using Windows XP, Microsoft Office 2003 on a Novell Network and using Novell Zenworks as my imaging tool.
